my story

I'm Josie. I was born in 2002 and raised in the small rural market town of Petersfield in Hampshire, England, tucked away in the South Downs National Park. For as long as I can remember, I've dreamt of becoming a singer/songwriter. I grew up with my big sister Chloe and shared a passion for music, putting on shows and singing for our family and friends. Growing up, Chloe was more of an instrumentalist, learning violin and piano from the age of 11, whereas I had a stronger desire to sing.

In 2014 my family and I took a holiday to Boston, New Hampshire, where Chloe and I were mistaken for young country singers Lennon & Maisy Stella. Soon after, we were inspired by them and wanted to sing professionally. That year we both started to learn other instruments, such as guitar and began performing every week at our local open mic, leading up to our first gig in 2016 at just 14 and 16 years old.

After starting our journey into the country music industry, In early 2018, Chloe suddenly passed away from Meningitis B. When grieving, I found much comfort in writing songs about many memories and feelings I was experiencing. I knew I could not stop sharing our music. I followed in Chloe’s footsteps and went to The Academy of Contemporary Music in 2018, achieving my Level 3 & 4 Vocals Diploma in 2020.

In 2020 the Covid Pandemic emerged. It became tough, and I decided to put releasing music on hold. During this time, I started my Degree BA (Hons) in Music Industry Practice. Not long after, in 2021, Chloe's friends and I came together virtually to create this song in honour of what would have been her 21st birthday. We want this song to help raise awareness and much-needed funds for the Meningitis Research Foundation. All the proceeds from Chloe’s Song will be donated to the charity.

In December 2022, I finally got my Degree BA (Hons) in Music Industry Practice with first-class honours. Moving into 2023, I am now starting to get back into the music industry and released my debut single, Miss You Back. I am so thankful to have collaborated with many amazing artists, such as Tom Hall, Frenchie Studios, Nicholas Bowen, Brad Wilmot, Jack Schwab, and Will Jones.

In 2020 I took up other hobbies, such as jewellery making. This became another strong passion of mine. I created a small business Butterfly Angel making handmade wire-wrapped jewellery using high vibrational crystals. I also have an extensive jewellery collection which some of the proceeds are donated to The Meningitis Research Foundation in honour of Chloe. I am hoping to expand my small business and have started my Level 3 Fundamentals Diploma in Jewellery Design & Manufacturing at The British Academy of Jewellery.
